How it all started, from my fathers words
After 45 years still hitting it off!

In 1948 I visited my home town back in West Virginia along with my sister. During our visit my sister ran into her old boyfriend, well that hit off, and on the way back to Florida they got married in a small town in Georgia. The following year my sister and I went back to West Virginia to visit our Dad and her mother-in-law, at this time I met this beautiful young lady, who was my brother-in-laws sister. It was on Labor Day and they had their usual celebration at the fairgrounds. My brother -in-laws sister’s boyfriend was suppose to come in from a town only a few miles away to take her to the celebration and then take her back to her apartment that evening. I was supposed to drop my sister off at his mother’s house and go and do my visiting. It turned out that her boyfriend was going to drive the family to the fairgrounds but could not make it. Now that he was out of the picture, I was asked to drive and was teamed up with the young lady. After the festivities, I drove her to her apartment, saw her to the door and asked if she would like to go out with me the next evening. She said that she couldn't as she had a date with her boyfriend. I said how about the following evening and she said that I could come by, which I did and we had a wonderful evening together. I asked her if I could see her the next evening and she said no because she had a date with her boyfriend, I said how about the following evening? She replied "I could come by". After our date I walked her to her door and gave her a kiss goodnight. Well after four dates with her every other day we were out and I knew, this was the girl for me. I popped the question to her, let’s go to Winchester, Virginia and get married. She said "yes". That was 45 years ago this past September 14, 2009. Many said it wouldn't last. We have a son with 3 sons and a daughter with a daughter. We are both past 70 and going strong in Tampa, Florida. By the way my brother-in-law often asked me if I got mad at him for marrying my sister. I said heck no, I just got even.
Nicholas A. Erdody Sr.
My Father and Mother were great parents and now they have both past. My sister and I will always remember the lessons we learned from them. We will try to live up to the standards that they showed us everyday of their lives. I want to thank God for giving me the honor of being their son and I will live everyday for the rest of my life with them in my heart. I will let them guide me through the rest of my journey and look forward to the time "until we meet again". My Mother loved old movies and I would like to take a line from one of our favorites to thank God for all he has given us.

"My Mother thanks you, My Father thanks you,
My Sister thanks you and I thank you".
Nick Erdody Jr.
